Music at St John’s
St John’s Church has at its heart a Grade 1 listed ‘Father’ Henry Willis organ which
accompanies the choir at services and is played regularly for recitals.
THE CHURCH CHOIR
Our four-part SATB choir rehearses every Thursday evening and sings at all Sunday and festival services and also gives occasional concerts. Classes on sight singing are held throughout the year as are occasional workshops on new repertoire. It is a happy, friendly group of 12 singers which socialises during the year and all are welcome to join us.
JUNIOR CHOIR
As part of Junior Church this group of youngsters rehearse for 15 minutes at each of their Sunday sessions and sing at the All Age service once a month.
Friern Barnet Community Choir
This is a choir for anyone in the area of Friern Barnet who loves to sing but would rather not sing in parts. The repertoire is from musical theatre and popular music from the 60s to present day. It is open to all and a small donation of £5 per session is suggested. Their first concert last May was a great success and more are planned for the coming year.
